November 11, 2057 — English Nearly Universal Language

New York, NY (NDNS) — Social scientists at the United Nations have revealed the results of a polling on the languages that people use across the globe and have found that English has gained a near universal status among world languages.

There are several possible reasons why English has become so universal:

1.  Way easier then most Asian languages; they really all sound the same but all have different alphabets, whereas English has a common alphabet with most of Europe.

2.  Non-English speaking countries require English to be taught in primary education classes, while in English speaking countries (especially the United States) the focus was on English, because even though the students grew up knowing that language, most of them used it poorly anyway, and if they didn’t know English that well, why try and learn a foreign language?

3.  The broadcasts SETI started picking up five years ago from an alien planet were all in English.
